Need ideas

My family and I were talking the other night about what we would get next if we were to sell our 28' powerplay. We love the boat and its the perfect size for our lake house. (We also just got it painted so we are not doing anything too soon)

It does have a tight cockpit but has plenty of room for coolers etc. We dont want a boat bigger than 32' up there, since its a pain with our dock. So with that being said, the only thing i really could come up with is a used 28 to 32 skater. Any other ideas?

Options...

Hmmm, so many options - so little time! :D

Skater - bad-azz and very cool! 28' (or new 30') with outboards - fast, quiet, good on fuel and oh-so-reliable! Still - small-ish cockpit and no real storage, but some.

The $64k question(s)... how fast do you want to go, do you want to sit or stand, and eggbeaters again, or I/O's?

BTW- didn't answer the last part of your question in your PM - all is well on this end with everyone / everything... just jonesin' to get out on the lake! :cool-smiley-026:

No preference on sit down or stand up. Just cant be too much of a pain to get in and out of.

If we did inboards, i was thinking maybe a 32 with 525's sixes and the new merc exhaust....but thats more of a dream!

Pantera has a new twin stepped 28.

I'd step up to a 30ft cig mystique or vice.

:cool-smiley-027:that new 28 pantera is a sweet looking ride.....

Well, since we know this isn't going to happen in the next couple months, let me think about that for a bit. It sounds like the perfect conversation to have sitting on your deck / dock, or mine - at the lake - with a few beers handy.

(hopefully the lake won't be this high when we do...)

cowisl 04-29-2008 12:53 PM

thank god we got it extended!

Active Thunder:D

If i personaly set a limit of 32' and wanted a good family performance boat...i think i would look for a 32 Active Thunder....

Pick up a 50 mystic throw some t55s in it and call it a day.

Otherwise a 28 Skater would throw ya hair back.
:D

The P28 has already been mentioned but not with the Extended cockpit and twin outboards which I find to be great for cockpit room.

Just joshing ya

If space and on and off from the dock is the problem what about a Bass Tracker Pontoon boat?:D

warlock 31 are nice but kind of hard to find. Saw one at LOTO, cool boat.

I have a couple of these new 30ft Liberator cats for sale. The cockpit is bigger than any 40 footer around and also has a big cabin. More pics here. http://www.offshoreonlyclassifieds.c...o19383-en.html

30 AMT with outboards, think I remember with 200s it got 6mpg at 80mph. May not be exact but really impressive.
Good condition used are a lot of boat for the money.

32 Doug Wright, inboards or outboards, open top.
Built to spec.

jayhawk261 05-01-2008 12:57 AM

The Liberator looks nice. What kind of speeds with a couple of small blocks? Something like Raylar's LS550?

Sydwayz 05-01-2008 05:24 AM

How about a 28 Active Thunder with a pair of Mercury 350HP outboards and U-shaped seating around the transom, or 6 stand up bolsters? We could do the 33AT the same way + a motor.

WILDMAN 06-03-2008 01:37 AM

My latest 30 Liberator. I sold the red one. More pics of the blue one here: http://www.offshoreonlyclassifieds.c...o23632-en.html

How about a 32 Sunsation SSR with 525's. Runs about 90, is comfortable and you could even go with a mid-cabin if you need some extra room. Best customer service there is.

Those Liberators look slick!

32 Skater bro. I shouldn't have to explain. Buy Parnell's 32 that has dry sump 6's & 800's, trailer.....bulletproof. Probably can get it without power if needed.

Tom A. 06-03-2008 12:31 PM

Do you want a cabin or just a day boat with a big cockpit? If you don't need the cabin then a 30/32' Skater or Spectre would be my choice. Otherwise a 30' Cig would be my V choice.

XPRESS 33PP 06-03-2008 02:51 PM

Chris,
I will sell you my 33, it might be a little bigger than you want but the colors match your 38. :cool-smiley-011:

sotapop20 06-03-2008 04:18 PM

Fountain introduced a new 33 Lightning. With twin HO's your looking at about 82-85 mph.
