Challenger boats closing doors.
|
I just got back from a small local boat show where I crawled around on a 28' Challanger. It had some nice features and some unconventional features not normally found on a "Go-Fast" boat like a power telescoping stern light and smartcraft guages. The Gel coat was slightly sub par but the engine room was very well rigged. As I talked with the sales guy I commented on the leap of faith I would have to take if I was to purchase a Challanger. I didn't realize how true that statement was when I made it.
holy smokes here it is going out of business  Imagine making a deal on one of these boats just to come home and read about it going bankrupt. Glad I didn't I hope the employees make out okay and find jobs. |

So should I give the sales guy a call and give him the news?

There will be more.

Probably their biggest production boat was the 28. It was the main boat being used by the LOTO water patrol for a long time. They are now being phased out with 29 Donzi CC's.

"Taking Care of Business in a flash"
It was Elvis' logo. Elvis even had it on the tail of his private jet |
I've got a 28 and love it. 2004 model. May become a collectors item! Yeah, right.
Sad to see any company go out of business, especially one in the marine industry. |
