IMCO SCX and SCT
Does anyone have any new information or recent experience with either of these two drives?
|
Just put a twin set of SCX on the New Ultra 344sc and ran them this last weekend.
|
Thanks for your response.
I talked to John. |

What motors? How'd they run compared to what you had before?
|
I'd like to here more about the scx and the power in front of it.

I'm looking to put a set on my 2007 36' Spectre with 625 Ilmor's. Thinking about going up in drive height -2" and getting the big shaft (#6 props). Any suggestions based on your experience with these SCX drives?

We're still doing our testing. We have only had the boat out one weekend so far and the conditions were less than ideal for testing. I will be doing a lot more testing this Thursday and Friday in California and then Saturday and Sunday in Havasu. I will let you know how everything goes next week. The boat is a 2009 Ultra 344 SC (34'4",10'4")with Ilmor 710s, IMCO SCX drives with standoff boxes, 1.34 gear ratio, 32 labbed Maximus props. So far I am very impressed with the IMCO SCX drives. This is the first boat built of this model, so I can't give you a comparison to any other engine and drive combos.

what's the diff between the SCX and SCT
|
The SCX has a cone clutch built into the upper and the SCT uses an external transmission like the 72C or Hurth.

Whipplecharged-What's your application and specifically, going from the STD bravo style props to the 6 style props: Did you change drive height and tell me what props you ran before and what you are running now. Decribe any differences in handling, speed, etc.
Thanks in advance for your help! I am going from Std length XR Lowers running a 36" Bravo Four blade or 32" Throttle Up CNC 5 Blade to the IMCO SCX with 2" Shorter Lowers and the #6 Style shafts and am trying to figure out what props to start with. |

mph loss as compaired to a standard bravo?
JC, I think this drive might be my best option over a #6 hanging off a 28 Pantara. I sure would like to hear a nice success story. I'm thinking about the SCX so I don't move my engine or move the prop location. |
