GLH. I have to admit you are a step ahead on most of us... Not just talking about lenght or boat price. Talking more about the fact you stepped to a ''cruiser'' style boat. in many cases (at least mine) we stick to performance boat, while you can have a more confortable boat, sometimes bigger, for same amount of money. I still don't know why I stick to performance boat, and that's why I say you are a BIG step ahead! You sure did the right thing! At least for your family I guess!

You have a nice boat! Looks like a big monster on the water! Can't wait to see this live!

Have fun!

You have an addiction! :D

Thanks for letting us follow you on your trip. Very cool. I got invited to do this many years ago. Some buddies of mine took their boats from here to FL and back. They took two weeks off and did a liesurely cruise down and back. Damn work got in the way for me. Oh well, maybe some day...

powerguy 05-27-2008 06:38 AM

Looks like you had a fun trip bringing it back to VT. Great looking boat.

Hey GL, I have heard stories from the SeaRay guys of large, prop eating household appliances in the channel around lock C2. Not sure which side though. We touched something in that area last year as well. Lockmaster at 3 should be able to fill you in on the specifics...

Have a safe trip.

Ok flying down to FLL for the same trip as last year. We will have the spot thing working again on the way up. Brought the camera this time so I might tale a few pictures.

I can't paste the address for the spot thighy from page one since I am posting with the phone so anyone who can paste it it would be great.

Going from 125 to 25 mph on the water. I just don't know!

Link seems to be working. Looks like he started heading north in the Intracoastal waterway about 12:30 AM and stopped at south end of Lake Worth around 4:30 AM this morning. Hopefully to catch some sleep. That GL is a bit of a night hawk. :)

Hmmm. I zoomed in and now see the canal you are heading for. Is that quicker that heading up P Sound ?

jeff32 05-19-2009 09:54 PM

looks like he's heading out to cap may from the ''intra coastal''.

How did you like this route?

GLH 05-20-2009 03:05 AM

Jeff. Went up chesapeak and down Delaware cause outside was too rough when we got to Norfolk yesterday morning. Chesapeak bay is nice but Delaware bay is Jerseys toilet bowl. It hate that facjking Bay, plus we get to the cap may canal and climb on a sand bank... Figures... No arm done back out and all is well.

If all goes well we will be in by NY city around 730 am this morning in time to get raped at the diesel dock!

That will put us close to 375 nautical miles in one 24 hour period. Would of been better if we did not have to wait 1:30 hour for morning traffic on a brige!

Plan is to crash at the federal dock passed the first lock north of Albany on the Champlain canal tonight if all goes well and the locks and Champlain run for home Thursday. Similar to last year if our luck holds out.
