Jacksonville Pix - A Tale of Two Bridges
 

Wow, everything I've heard about this run is true-
absolutely a first class event.
Gotta thank Mr P for hookin' me up with the Fire Chief escort on the Buckman Bridge...
It was a perfect spot. Three different police officers stopped while we were there-
I woulda never made it on my own.
I drove to the Crab Shack for lunch
and then made my way back to the Shands Bridge
and caught everyone as they were heading north.

I've never been "that guy" on one of these threads before...BUT...where's the mandatory life jacket rule? Water looks pretty smooth, but you just never know...ya know?

I noticed the same thing about the jackets. In almost every boat, everyone was wearing them, but then no one has them on in the blue Skater. It has a number, so it must be in the run...... What gives?

i was thinking the same thing...especially on the blonde kneeling on the sunpsd while the boat is on plane ? WTF ?

Those shots were taken of the boats leaving the Crab Shack after lunch,
the red OL wasn't going fast and the water was perfectly calm-
not what it looks like- and she was stepping down into the boat, not riding back there.

LIFEJACKETS were mandatory, brought up at both CAPT. meetings. This is an issue because of insurance regulations. We can lead them to the water, you know the rest.

Yes I was in the run and for your information I was going to the launch ,the run was over . I WOULD NEVER DANGER MY LIFE ARE ENYBODY ELSE LIFE .The water was calm it was very hot and we were not running fast at all . :Whatever:

On the jackets..many times I wanted to and so did my party to take them off..IT WAS A HOT DAY...We followed the rules and everyone else that we saw did the same. The rules on both friday and saturdays drivers meeting were: Mandatory life vests at all times except when off plane or slow speeds going to card stops. 100 % followed the rules, the poker run was well laid out, very safe, and there were no incidents. Definately will be doing this run next year, but hopefully with a cat.:grinser010:

--wanna hear some funny chit. When the law regulating crowd was asked about the outside for those wanting to run it on Friday, 5 coasties had NO idea, Wildlife= NO idea, Sheriff's Dept says "it's beautiful, 1-2". When we hit the cut that chit was 5-6. Couldn't even get any running pics
