RIVERGIRL'S first APACHE ride.....
Well, now I can say I have ridden on all the true offshore boats.
Yes, boys and girls I got my ride on an Apache. Medicine man gave me the pleasure of joining him and his crew from the FPBC poker run this past weekend on his 47 Apache.... Medicine Man. All I have to say is WOW! The ride was incredible! I love the fact of how deep they are..... Now, if you want a true Deep V....i suggest you take a look at an Apache...only problem, no longer in production. So with all the history behind this hull, it's sad the production has ended on these beautiful boats. you can add this baby to my favorites list. Oh and plastered….it was nice meeting you and your wife! doc, nice seeing you to and thank you, your a sweetie. it was nice to see all the friendly faces....you boys and gals are sooo much fun! I just love Florida! ;) |
sounds like someone had a good time, must be nice:D
|
Ok so Hawks Cay in a 46 Skater then a 47 Apache. Just how are you going to top that for the Spring Key West run??
|
Saber Marine builds the 41' Apache now. They bought the mold.
|
The mold is one thing the way it is built is another. :)
|
Do you ever work!!!! ;) ;) ;)
Yes I am jelous. :D:D Glad you are having a good time :D:D Jon |

The Saber 41 is clearly LIGHTER, STRONGER and FASTER than the Apache !!!! If you want a true custom offshore performance machine based on a timeless, classic design contact Saber Marine... You will not be disappointed !!!! # 616-837-6442 |
Wow, that sounds great! Must have been an awesome time!
That is a really impressive boat...Always been on my list of Must-experiences...Perhaps one day! I'm jealous! :D  |
hey now ... Audio .... you be nice. :p
Thanks Apache Kid. I didn't know Saber Marine bought the mold. soooo... i don't see many saber's around...???? what really comes down to it.... is the history that comes along with the mold/boat that attracts me. ;) |
Yes but unfortunatly the broke the mold when they made you cutie :D:D

Blueman, I have owned a 41 Apache and rode in three others 41. The ride was like an old rag top car. I thought it would have rode better. The Saber is about 3000lbs lighter. The cockpit is not a liner and everything is glassed togather. I guess I could compare it to driving a old GTO vers new BMW. Its just my opinion. I hope I don't offend anyone.

Hey...that's my boat !!!!
Thanks for the pick up Apache kid ... I haven't seen that thing since November !!!:(
Won't be much longer now .... Btw ... we will be at Smoke on the Water in june with the Saber shown above and another 41 Banshee with Sterling power and #6 drives. RiverGirl... come on up to Grand Haven and we'll make you forget all about that Apache !!! :D (it just wont be as warm) J.M. |
Jerry?
|
Yeah man ...what's up ???
:)
|
does Saber have a web site??
How many different size Apaches were built in the day? And where/who has the molds now??? :D :D |
Jerry. The 41' Banshee that you own is SWEET. You need to hang around Grand Haven more! What other Poker Runs r u doing this year? I have bugged Jim G. for the past few years to get me a ride on your boat. I keep that picture up in my office. Looking forward to meeting you at SOTW.
|
I was told that Saber has'nt built a boat in over 2 years....just working on other peoples stuff....but they have the old molds for the 41 as well as there 28 and I believe a 34 but have never seen it.

|
Dyno... don't forget they have a 24' and I'll bet you didn't know they make an open fish boat as well ... (right Jim D.):p
|
Just to let you apache guys know they are selling a pretty nice 41 apache out here in Cali for fairly cheap...Like 110 I think.

One of my best friends owns the 24 ft Saber that runs out of Grand Haven & Hardy Damn area. They completed the 34ft last year. Saber, Apache, Pantera, Suphen, Powerplay, Courger how often does anybody see these boats. They are custom made and not alot around, thats what makes them turn heads when you do see them. The last time I talked to another good friend he has his 30 ft Suphen listed in Boat Trader. com (He's in love now, doesn't have time to boat) LOL. :D :D
|
Here we go again with the custom boat thing ... but I think alot of people shy away from them because you cant go down to the local dealer (who is just going to try to rip you off anyways) and sit in one and talk to some dork in a golf shirt with a name tag (welcome to Appleby's...do want fries with that?).... now that I've got that off my chest... it's a shame more people dont shop the smaller custom builders... They may be surprised and they'll probably save $$$ .... And I almost forgot that you left Active Thunder off your list up there (you have to say that right???)
|
..I'm a big fan of Sutphen's...we raced in the B-12 last year & had a blast! Looks like we'll be out this year as well....
..note my avatar... |
Im there with ya!!:D
|
rivergirl was the doc you referred to doc Golie with the 46 skater mixed emotions? Did he go on the poker run
|
I was at the Coastal Marine poker run (Port Clinton OH) about 3 years ago and there was a
yellow 28 ? Saber there . It was a real cool looking boat and I had heard that it ran in the 80's (mph). I haven't seen one since. |
hey Apache Kid...can you post that pic of my boat on the new reader rides thread ???
Thanks man if you have time !! J.M. |
26Scarab...that was my boat @ one time but the guy that has it now was there then... answers to Buzzinbye on the Board... that boat is an honest 85 on radar... Powerboat Mag. award winner in '94... without being a big advertiser in the magazine ????
|
46tomcat....no, not Doc Golie. it was Dr. Santiago.
Speaking of Dr. Golio, His skater is sitting right outside. I have heard many good things about Dr. Golio. Maybe I will get the chance to put a face to the name.;) |
The Saber Boys
Hey Jerry,
Be careful about that "hello welcome to Applebee's" thing. If you remember that's where the Gellhoed brother always take us to lunch when we go up there!! HMMMMMMMM? strange isn't it? And Jerry is right Scarab 26 that was me a coastal a couple of years ago when the run was cancelled due to bad weather. dan |
They never took you to Rudy's Meats???
"You can beat our prices , but you can't beat our meat !!" :p |
Meat Beating?!?!?!
No!!! Your right I havent been out to lunch with them since the old building.
:( |
Leopajjm,
What did you have for power in that boat ? Really a great looking boat, nice classic offshore lines. |
Hey 26scarab.....
The 28 had 500 hps/bravos.... still in there and runnin strong (as long as Dan can keep it off the rev limiters:eek: ) The 41 has triple merc 800sc/#5 (new Sterling "magic dust" rebuilds this year) ????????? we'll see ????? "Anyone know where the next fuel stop is ????" |
The next fuel stop is in Grand Haven!!!:D
|
is Medicine Man back from Florida..?
