they can sit like that empty if they blow out all the ballast tanks.. I would imagine if you tried to run it would through a hell of a rooster tail

Thats a picture of The MS Emma Maersk. It's the worlds largest cargo ship. 1300 + feet long. It can travel 27 knts and can carry 11000 containers. It travels from China to the US atleast once a week, nearly full and ALWAYS goes back pretty much with just empty containers.

I watched the cable show last night showing that thing being built. UnFreakinbelievable. The diesel engine in that thing was monstrous!

Like our trade deficit isn't bad enough with China.
