Assclown racing heads to SIB
#91
I got some time to meet Mrs. McCarthy and Mrs. Lucky strike and they did a great job of keeping the paperwork in order and always did it with a smile, thank you ladies.
Now for the race...WOW, open ocean is friggin cool runnings, once you lose site of land, humility sets in and it lets you know that in the ocean we are insignificant, although we had perfect running conditions, I can see where it could change in and instant. then to be able to pull out a win was amazing, to anyone else thinking of running the HORBA events I say do it, you gotta play to win. I got a chance to talk with Bob Saccenti for a bit and what a character, thanks for the advice Bob and my offer still stands...We will be back on the bay this weekend

First of all for the rest of OSO who never got a chance to meet these guys....they are the best. These are exactly the type of guys that we would have felt comfortable with offshore in the southern ocean off Argentina or Australia or the big waves of the Great Lakes.
They got the right stuff !!! Now..... the only mistake I see they made was the Mrs McCarthy and Mrs Lucky Strike comment above.....hey guys these were the hot chicks back then...if you start addressing them like old ladies....you better hope someone else is handling registration next time.
As a aside.......picture this....somoene told me that there was a shore based section cheering on the old Formula 23 and the Cigarette Tiger NON_STEP boat. Who was there asked I? well, just Bobby Saccenti and Richie Powers....yup their kind of racers for sure.
