Default Best GPS(Chartplotter) under $1000

Anyone got any suggestions, my old one took a crap, doesnt aquire satellites any more, and I am a poor boy, need something reasonable that will last a while. I was looking at the Raymarine A60, I can get it for$620 without the bottom finder, or 750 with the bottomfinder, plus $20 for the flush mount kit, does anyone have any feedback on this unit??

I am also thinking about the garmin 478, which i can get with both car and boat mounts for $725, the downfall is the screen size.

I'm a big Garmin fan too. How about a 540 or 545?

Lowrance LMS 520 C. 599.00 from Boaters World. I run one on my center console and love it
.
Before you buy a GPS PM me with whatever model you want and I can probably help you out.

How is the Pantera running?

We finally ran the Apache and we are running 59.7 with a full load of fuel, Tammys junk,(bags, purses, swim ladder, anchor shade, etc.),the dog, and two coolers of beverages.

I'll look into that one.

Pantera is running great, but still looking for a little speed, I have gotten a best of 55 with full tank, coolers, and 2 of us on board. What motor are you running??

We took the OMC 225 off because I found a "killer" deal on a 250 Yamaha.
Well that "killer" deal Yamaha needed injectors and a fuel pump and set us back money wise.
I found a local guy that really hooked me up with labor and I provided the parts. He is a "fast bass boat guy" that actually knew what an Apache is. When I first talked to him he asked if it was a Saccenti boat. Pretty cool.
We have tried a labbed Bblades 26 Bravo 1,a cheap aluminum 23, and I have a 25 mirage on it now. I would love to find a 24 trophy plus to try.
Tammy was watching the GPS last weekend and said it was climbing at 59.7 but a pontoon cut me off.
60 is my goal but I think it has more.
At this point after working on it 4 years I just want to enjoy the boat.
In the future I'll probably raise the motor a few inches. We recovered the original interior and the front seats are HEAVY. I could easily drop 300 pounds by removing the 2nd battery, subwoofer box, amp, and going with some lighter seats.
We spent a lot of time, blood and sweat on those seats so they will stay for now.

Anyway contact me first before you buy a GPS.
