Frank,
Loved the story about the hose and fixing it on the water and still finishing in Great Style. I was on the Turn boat and you looked great rounding the turn in Bimini and heading back the boat sounded awesome... Nice work guys you are what it is all about for those of us that got to help make this happen.

We had a mission and nothing was going to keep us from finishing. We ran 95 mph once we got up a running again and turned where you were at around 80 mph. We wanted to run as hard as we could knowing that we had a time to beat. It was someting that I will never forget. OSS and HORBA put up a great event and only next year will be better. Can`t wait!!!!

I had a great time down there last week. I did a bit of crew work for the Extreme Vortec boat. I enjoyed being there, and I look forward to coming again next year. Maybe next time I can make the run.

Sorry, Ed Cozzi who was Inspector of the boats along with Brad did a outstanding job in that heat. Ed is a former throttleman for Howard Quam on that 38 Bertram FLAP JACK and has plenty of open water racing experience.
Thank you very much Ed for your effforts on behalf of all the racers for this event.

Charlie et al:
Thanks for a great time last weekend. I only visited the pits on Friday to see the original "Cigarette", and attended the scattering of Davie's ashes and Brownie's incredible party, but what a great get together it was.
The people who attended were indeed the Pantheon of boat racing's greats and it is a tribute to Charlie. Brownie and others who refuse to let the flame die. I hope that some of this tradition rubbed off on the current crop of enthusiasts.
Keep the faith always, and thanks to the gang for a lifetime of memories.

Charlie - I thoroughly enjoyed the Friday events. Hope all had a great time on Saturday and Sunday as well. I congratulate you and staff for an incredible accomplishment. I have not had the pleasure of meeting Brad Schoenwald, Larry Goldman, or David Di Petrillo and others who made it possible, but also extend congratulations and well-dones to them. Let's not forget Mary Pat either. I'm sure that having her and Charlie Jr behind your efforts was a major part of making it a success. And you didn't even get called off the race course because someone had been struck by lightening (great story from Bill Warner). I also had a quick pre-race conversation with Stan Ware which made me think of Al and brother Bill. Jim Hauser, Jay Davis, and Chuck Pickover.... Thanks for a great day aboard Rampage 45' as turn boat #1. Brownie....Big congratulations to you for Jimbos Event. I talked to people that I had not seen in 40+ years and some that I had never actually met, but who I had heard about all of my adult years. Michael Aronow...What a great pleasure to finally meet you and hear about your youthful adventures in Europe with my brother. And to all of the members of the "Old Farts Club" that showed up to share memories, YOU are what it was all about! Thanks and Best Regards -Steve Sirois
