$10K?????? Just last year I watched a 1981 28 pantera bare hull go for more than that
Powerplay is just the opposite: 1. Never going to be a raceboat, 2. Complex interior (a/c, enclosed head, huge cabin) 3. They only made 12, 9 of which are still alive and running. 4. Limited run boat makes for a tough resale for big money, this boat now has history and it will make for a very tough resale for anyone. The original owner has access to 525's/ XR's with less than 100 hours at a ridiculously low price and he even said the boat is toast, not worth fixing. He likes using the analogy that boat was like Cheryl Tiggs in her prime and now she is a beat, crack whore.......... |
What a shame..... I love those 38 PowerPlay, saw it many times on the Chesapeake two summers ago when Steve was running it around...

I saw the sunk pics, it was full a submersion. The Pantera had a few things going for it: 1. Great raceboat canidate, 2. Very simple boat, not a interior full of luxuries, 3. Still made today, might be able to get interior pieces/ help from the factory

35,000 would be fair. The bare Nortech 38' 1999 is priced at that . And with no disrespect to the owner Nortech said it was worth 25,000 maybe etc.. Salt water is a killer on everything in the boat ,so it's a hull with possible a trailer. Who knows if water started to wick up into any of the coring. How much is it worth after the rerig in todays crappy market, with most everyone knowing it's history as the sinker.

What has happened to that boat just plain sucks!:(
What happened to the other 38's if only 9 out of 12 still run? The sweetest one around is identical to the sunk boat but with navy hullsides instead of black. Boat has been re-rigged this year with 700's/NXT's and has about 100 hours total hull time. Boat is out west and stored in a climate controlled warehouse and looks like it has been stored in a time warp. Of course the fastest 38 PP is "Can't Touch This" with monster Cobra power and 6's. Boat runs over 115...... |
I've seen video of Can't Touch This. That boat sounds incredible. I would love to be there to see that boat run.
