I was listening to ZZ top yesterday and thought of him:

Manic Mechanic:

You want to race?
If you insist.
At that price, I can't resist.
That's right, that's right, that's right.

Tonight it ain't right,
I got to have me a week.
But I'll be back for you, jack,
And I'll let the machine speak.

That's right, that's right, that's right.

Showdown? You bet.
And I haven't saddled my pony yet.
Have mercy, miss percy.
I done put the coon tune on this bet.
That's right, that's right, that's right.

Interesting, I'm sure he was running over 100 as they said, just wouldn't/couldn't for over $5000.

But you said before you'd be ready in September, remember?

I'll bet that's a real fast boat with that kind of HP and propped right, as it apparently is. I understand you're pride on this project, and the fun you're having. But I don't think you seem to understand the difference here.

Yes, there are many offshore style boats that can't break 100/90/80, even 70. That's not really the point. You're comparing apples to oranges. Whether you beat a Cigg Top Gun that costs Waaay more than one boat or another is immaterial. If you look at my sig you'll see what I mean. I don't want or need my boat to go 90 or 100 mph. Even if it did, I'd prefer a boat that can do 50 or 60 in some of our less than calm waters here, and do it in comfort.

Bottom line, many were pretty interested in your project, particularly the gear heads and the small block owners. You missed you're chance by pi$$ing on their foreheads. Try another approach maybe? Put your talents to work, not your outrageous ego and mouth. Just a suggestion
