Hey Frank, thanks. Don't bet on my not being at 1,000 Islands. :)
Gonna see if the cables are long enuff to have Nor Tech switch the throttles and shifters location so I can throttle with my left arm. Oh, ya forgot, need another one to steer ! LOL Will get something figured out.:) Bob Now Bob, you know it only requires one phone call to clear up that situation :) You need to worry about getting healed and nothing else for a while. Its the only thing that matters right now. Good luck my friend and heal quickly. |
Hey Bob ... sorry to hear you're hurting. Best of luck on the recovery ...
|
Best Wishes Bob! I had very similar surgery less than a year ago, great now, they do wonders!
Make sure they give you the shoulder ice pack hooked up to a cooler, that was the best! Pumps ice water thru the shoulder wrap, kept swelling way down.... hope you have a Speedy recovery! |
Bob,
I wish you the best with your surgery and your recovery!!! Take care and I hope to see you soon! DK |
Bob, its not that bad.....I have that t shirt too. Post a pic after you get out and we'll compare scars. Get you a broom handle to put over your shoulders for range of motion stuff.....you are going to be doing it in physical therapy. Best of luck with your recovery!
John |
Bob hoping for a quick recovery for you.
|
Best of luck Bob...... Cleveland clinic rules !
I've been tuned up there & they are the best. Steve |
Get well soon Bob!
|
Thanks everyone for the thoughts and well wishes. Just going out the door now for the 4.5 hr drive to Cleveland. Funny thing is it is only 100 miles from here straight, line but have to drive half way around Lake Erie. Where's PREDATOR when I need her? LOL. :)
I will check in on OSO tomorrow evening once I regain my sensibilities. Hope I don't do anything stupid while on drugs !! LOL Bob |
Best of luck with everything.
|
Bob,
Congrats on the record and we wish you a speedy recovery. Dean |
Wishing you a Speedy Recovery!

Ian and I will be thinking about you, remember to have someone let us know how it went. Good luck, hope to see you soon.

Sorry to hear about your injury. Congratulations on setting a New Speed Record from Key West to Cancun. Now try and set a New Record with your Speedy Recovery. Get Well Soon.

Bob,
Good luck today with your surgery. I have had too many surgeries from stupid injuries and I can never let my wife read this thread or she will think I will get hurt boating now. This is supposed to be much safer than BMX, rugby or skiing. Cleveland Clinic is good, we live Erie and know the place well. "ask for drugs, drugs are good" |

Happy Healing Bob !

glad to hear it went well, leave it to you to downplay your problems, and think of others. I hope you are able to get some sleep and keep the pain at bay, and listen to those that have mentioned how important the therapy is. Give me a call when you feel up to it.
|
Bob, glad all went well and hoping you a speedy recovery
|
Speedy recovery Bob!
You got the right attitude, people sometimes forget that there are worse things in life than a blown motor or a missed poker run. |
HEY PAL
You had same operation as I after my accident. LISTEN TO YOUR PHYSIOTHERAPIST Do the exercises they give you, FOR SURE or you will regret it. Best of luck with it all my friend. ALEC |
May your injury be like a fiberglass repair:
"If it is done by the right technician, it will be better than original." Heal well my friend! |
Hope you're doing well Bob. Hats off to setting a record in spite of a painful injury.

Breast wishes for a speedy recovery

So Bob, did you request any special "throttling" excercises to aid in your speedy recovery? :)
Looks like a good time to head up to Lake Joe and just REEEEEELLLLLAAAAAAAXXXXXXXXXXXXX for a while Bob. Kick back on the dock with a cocktail and watch the skitters carry away small children. |
Bob, best of luck with the surgery, and be very careful with that shoulder in the future.
Michael |
Glad all went well Bob, take care of yourself and hope to see you soon.
Talk to you soon; Jay |
good luck and get well soon Bob!!!

Well I'm home and finally had a good nights rest. Doc says I can pleasure boat with sling on and using a lot of care in 3 weeks. ( I did not mention I'm still planning on Put-in-Bay, OH in 2 weeks ). Nothing competitive for 6 weeks he says. 1,000 Islands is 5 weeks but again we won't mention it. Besides, a poker run is not a race, remember? LOL :)
Again, thanks for all the well wishes and of coarse the funny stuff. Some of you guys crack me up. :) Enjoy the July 4th weekend and above all, be safe. Bob |
Glad to hear you're back home Bob.
Get well soon ! |
Bob,
While I do not know you personally I wish you a speedy recovery - GET BACK ON THE WATER!!!!! Stephen |

Always a good time there. I love the XM weather. It was a bit funny as about noon Saturday some were asking what time the rain would arrive. I said - " Oh, looks like about 4 PM." It started at one minute to 4. Had a good laugh over that.:) On Sunday I dropped my crew off across the lake at Leamington then ran almost 100 miles east to meet the truck and trailer at Port Glasgow. Gave me more time on the water where boats belong and less on the highway. :) Keep in touch. Bob |
bob,
Great news, glad to hear you are on the mend. Dean |
