Best Wishes Bob! I had very similar surgery less than a year ago, great now, they do wonders!
Make sure they give you the shoulder ice pack hooked up to a cooler, that was the best! Pumps ice water thru the shoulder wrap, kept swelling way down....

Bob, its not that bad.....I have that t shirt too. Post a pic after you get out and we'll compare scars. Get you a broom handle to put over your shoulders for range of motion stuff.....you are going to be doing it in physical therapy. Best of luck with your recovery!

Thanks everyone for the thoughts and well wishes. Just going out the door now for the 4.5 hr drive to Cleveland. Funny thing is it is only 100 miles from here straight, line but have to drive half way around Lake Erie. Where's PREDATOR when I need her? LOL. :)
I will check in on OSO tomorrow evening once I regain my sensibilities. Hope I don't do anything stupid while on drugs !!:eek: LOL

Good luck today with your surgery. I have had too many surgeries from stupid injuries and I can never let my wife read this thread or she will think I will get hurt boating now. This is supposed to be much safer than BMX, rugby or skiing.
Cleveland Clinic is good, we live Erie and know the place well.
"ask for drugs, drugs are good"

now that made me smile. i am told it went well. it is now behind me, surgery that is. lol and i can go home tomorrow. wow, this is really going to slow me down but each day will be better.
a person does not have to be in a hospital very long before they realise there are many, many people dealing with far more serious ailments than mine. my heart goes out to them.

The kids are the worst. One word of advice, no matter how much it bugs you, don't skip on the therapy schedule.

glad to hear it went well, leave it to you to downplay your problems, and think of others. I hope you are able to get some sleep and keep the pain at bay, and listen to those that have mentioned how important the therapy is. Give me a call when you feel up to it.

Well I'm home and finally had a good nights rest. Doc says I can pleasure boat with sling on and using a lot of care in 3 weeks. ( I did not mention I'm still planning on Put-in-Bay, OH in 2 weeks ). Nothing competitive for 6 weeks he says. 1,000 Islands is 5 weeks but again we won't mention it. Besides, a poker run is not a race, remember? LOL :)
Again, thanks for all the well wishes and of coarse the funny stuff. Some of you guys crack me up. :)

how far of a ride did you have to go home.

we were the 38 fountain not the scarb on the other side with the people that had no respect for our boats.

having torn my rotator before, I know how he felt. Now, I am looking at the possibility of surgery on my knee.. :( I wish Bob luck for a speedy recovery.

Hey Mike. First of all welcome to OSO.
Great to meet you at PIB. Always a good time there. I love the XM weather. It was a bit funny as about noon Saturday some were asking what time the rain would arrive. I said - " Oh, looks like about 4 PM." It started at one minute to 4. Had a good laugh over that.:)

On Sunday I dropped my crew off across the lake at Leamington then ran almost 100 miles east to meet the truck and trailer at Port Glasgow. Gave me more time on the water where boats belong and less on the highway. :)
