I think you need to ride in and look for your self at the boats in your price range. There is No way I would ever chose a spectre over a eliminator. Bob Leach has been building boats for YEARS and it shows when you look at the finished product of a eliminator.

Does anyone build a custom cat that competes with these top guys, thinking like Al Copeland used to do. It was some kind of sailbote builder or something? I would like to see more pics of some nice designs that are not as common. If any

I would go true cat before considering a center pod. If need be, install a tunnel tab to help pack the air while sub-100mph cruising. Take a ride in the boats you like best and don't forget about resale value.

I think putting a tunnel tab on a cat is asking for problems.

I have a buddy that has a 30' Daytona and it rides great on the lake, never have been down to the gulf with him yet. The gel and glasswork is very good but the interior is average at best, the new model has a much better looking interior IMO. Never ridden in a Spectre but everyone that I talked to that has had nothing but good things to say about them.

Why does Eliminator use one on the 30 & 36 then?

People put them on to help with planing when running large props. Put one down and land wrong and you will be stuffing your cat.
