I brought my 29 warlock to fl and love it in the big water. We do 80 plus in 2 to 4 footers no issue. It lands very smooth. Mine is an 01 I know the newer ones got kinda cheap with the build. These boats won tons of races not and they still race them (pump it).

Back to the top ............how about one of the earlier Warlock 28 Offshore hulls built from 1987 to probably mid 1990's before they went to the different 29.

Hate to thread jack but I'm looking for some first hand knowledge of commander boats and it seems very hard to come buy using my search tab and Google.
Thanks guys |

Thanks guys His screen name was Commander112 here on OSO. You can probably find some old posts from him. He eventually sold it just to go back to a stock powered V-bottom, but not after he had at least one magazine spread on his boat. |

Had a buddy with a Commander cat, a 28 or so maybe? He loved the boat, and monkeyed with it for years adding huge power and a Number V drive to it, up from the stock power/Bravo it came with it.

Thats a great boat.
If I boated primarily on lakes I would probably have a Bullet Never seen one at Catalina in over 30 trips spanning 3 years. Saw a commander split in 2 in Parker once- not for me. UD |
Was the commander a V or cat? Upper and lower shells seperate, or was it a vertical split?

Predominately white, with blue gel coat secondary color, and rainbow of other colors as accents; was the one he had.

We were heading from below Badenochs to the Moovalya Keys and I was in my 20.8 tunnell with a 500HP 406 racing an 18 foot jet boat with a blown 440 mopar mill in it. I had a chick with me. He had a chick with him. The guy in the commander was a buddy of the guy in the jetboat and was upriver from us on a walkie talkie when the race started. We were closing on him fast and we all hit a big set of rollers. The guy in the jetboat and I were in the upper 80' passing him at around 60-65 and we hit it.... The launch was hard enough to split the commanders upper and lower by 4 fingers at the front and you could see screws hanging out - nasty. Uncle Dave |

I have not talked to him in a long time. I just shot a text to him via the last number I had, and I'll let you know what happens.

Has anyone mentioned the 29' Shockwave yet? Nice big boat with a deep V.

I just don't know if I feel like exhausting myself and money to get the boat back to its glory and 125mph capabilities. I will need to do some thinking about it over some beers tonight! LOL |
I know this is an old thread, but I'm looking at the Kachina Shadow 30' with a 500efi. I took a test ride and thought it handled well in rough water. Someone on hear said he had 2 and didn't like them. I would like to know why?
Also looking at the magic and advantage 28-32' mid cabin open bow boats. We mainly do river and lake riding but hit a few poker runs each year. Trying to stay under $60k. Any feedback is great Thanks |

Which west coast builders make the best 28-30ft boat for offshore use? Thanks for your input.

Hi Derrickc,
I will have our new twin step Pantera 28' with recessed hull sides in the water real soon. 1st boat powered by a single 525 EFI Merc. This new 28' will be available soon since it is being custom built for our dealer in the North East.If you are interested in a rough water boat shoot me an email at [email protected] Transportation to the West Coast is no problem. We also just did new cockpit dashes for our 28' model. WWW.Panteraboats.com Jo - Pantera Boats |
I'm looking at both V and cat. 1 or 2 engines is fine. But if 1 engine does 60mph I don't see the need for 2. I just sold my 22' scarab with a 454. The 30' shadow felt way more powerful.
