That's awesome how you can anchor your boat right off the beach like that. I wish they allowed that at my local beach.

That is definitely one of the coolest things about FMB. The water is always so calm it makes it possible just about every day, at least every time I've ever been there. Always a lot of action at the Lani Kai.

Stormrider- I like Nikon stuff. These were taken with a D300 and an 80-400 zoom. I can't imagine life without Photoshop.

I think the "results" are outstanding!

The first picture isn't too remarkable unless you factor in the distance-
she was more than a quarter mile away.

I just took a look at Nikonusa.com and that D300 is one hell of a nice camera, so is that D3.

I had good luck with the D70s for a couple years, but I needed something with more speed and megapixels.
I've been amazed by this thing to say the least, and I am still learning how to use it.
Some very advanced technology- especially with the way it interprets shadows.
Lots of ways to adjust control- filter effects, white balance etc,
and the autofocus system is unreal- 51 sensor points that can be individually programmed, or you can set it to use 1, 9, 21 or all of them.

The D300 has the same internals as the D3, just not as much processing power.
I'd love to have a D3, but no way I can justify five grand right now.

A few more...
