Don,t look too much at engine /gearcase height ,start with centerline propshaft at 1/2inch above the bottem and work up 1/4 inch per time, watch the water press gauge like JCPERF mentioned,some use jackplates some don,t
Remember ,not a set engines is equal,nor is every 28 skater .....or a set props , but they sure do run fast .
Cousin has a 28 with canopy,s and 280,s he runs 111 mph ,that one seems a lot more in weigh as a pleasure boat...not sure how much if any

stirling, missed your reply.
This is a pleasure ride and current owner will be taking us out for a ride this week. He states 113.4 GPS, low fuel, 2 people and around 6300 RPMs.
We always hear this type skater has more mph in them. Looking for idea set up to run at least 122ish WOT if possible with current power.
Also, what would you call a good deal on this type of boat? It is very clean inside and out, fresh rebuilds including lowers and with new Manning trailer.
