What's a McManus Apache?
One of Bobby's boats that McManus put his name on?

how about if they had the same top end to begin with??? Say in flat water the 47 apache ran 110, and the new OL ran 110. What would the outcome be in rough water??

The setup is what makes all the difference though. Those OL's will run 110 with like 700hp motors. If you set them both up to run 110, it would just be handicapping the OL. Alternatively, if you put the motors Kemosabe has in an OL, the OL would be quite a bit faster. Stronger materials, computer balancing vs. taking a guess, and much more efficient running surface is where the difference is made.

The 47 Fountain raceboats are tough to beat as well.

All these claims sound great, please post some video's to enhance this thread & the brand of your choice. The rougher the water, the better.

Took a ride in a 43 ol felt like i got kicked down a flight of stairs in a milk crate.Very fast will run over 130mph not a problem with that. Ill stick to a old school v bottom in big water. The guy with the ol took a ride in my apache in some bumpy water and he could not beleve it just shook his head. Like 4' and 7' at 95mph not getting beat up at all.:drink:

Billy Betz?

to each his own. The 43 is fast and has serious rough water capability, however it's probably leaving 5-7,000 lbs on the table compared to the resin bucket, so it will ride differently, but not mutch will keep up with it in rough or flat water.

Also you don't have to worry about stress cracks

Boat weight is 9500 no fuel.

LOL! I've been waiting for the Apache warparty! Where is Steve Nykamp, he has ridden in a lot of powerboats and can always be counted on for truthful, insightful answers.

Rather than telling cute stories and watching 1985 videos, why not compare race result from the last 5 years or so. Even endurance runs...

Who's entered what, in what conditions, and what were the results? :party-smiley-004:
