You gotta get down to the land of palm trees and year-round boating. Snow sucks unless you're just vacationing in it(like Colorado).

BTW what's a Seacraft? Got pics?

On that assumption I would reckon if FB built a brand new boat with 4 big diesel engines it would be mostly unbeatable in long distance offshore as per the 80's racing

PS ... I think we have a winner of the Rough offshore supremo racing

I raced in races in 98 and 99 against the 4 engine diesel boat. It was cool and smoked a lot but it couldnt keep up with the 46 Skaters. We even went to Argentina and race it as well. It was a big water race that day. We took first place that day and Alcone in their 46 Skater took 2nd.

the best riding boat I have been in sofar is a 41 apache six pack. Its a great riding boat compared to the cig's , fountains, sutphens, etc... they are heavy and take alot of power to run fast, but I'm sure the weight is a big reason they ride well...But I cant see ANYTHING running with a big cat,. preferably a skater 40 ft plus.. The pics of Jim's boat eating up big water should say enough...

Thats the biggest factor right there!!

How would a 41 outerlimits be against a 41 apache in rough water? let me guess the apache would get its a$$ kicked. :party-smiley-004:

Maybe we could put a friendly run together to test a few big boats against each other and see for real.

Comanche, those are all great vids. I love the old stuff. Is it me or do you agree, it seems all the racing today seems to be in much smoother water and the races are so short. There are no long straight aways in big rough seas like there used to be. The one rough race I was looking forward to watching was Atlantic City, and they cancelled it cause it was too rough. I wonder if it was really too rough, or rough like it was in the old days.

It was to rough. I was there right at the inlet. Absolutely nasty water that day.
