Default Tempest Boat ????

Hey guys my buddy just picked up a 1984? 32' tempest from NH. The stickers on the boat say its an official APBA Pace boat.Anyone have any info or history of this boat or of Tempest in general.Looks like a great hull with Merc. 420 HP and TRS drives.

Thanks Nordic95

Good quality "old school" offshore boat. Came from the original 32' Viper molds. Very deep "V" (25 or 26 degree if memeory serves me). Good rough water boat, not the easiest thing to make go fast, particularly with that power. My guess would be low to mid 60's.

In the mid 80's, Hawk Racing Team from Mamaroneck, NY was selling these boats and was also supplying the Pace Boat for the APBA offshore series, so my guess is it was from there. I know they used a larger Tempest as a pace boat for awhile, as well as a 38' Cigarette. I don't recall a 32' Tempest, but it is possible.

Nice boat!!! Congrats. Tempest are few and far between.
I guess in 85 a Tempest 38 was the APBA Pace boat for the season. Here's a pic of the pace boat and a pic of my boat which may be for sale soon to make room for another. Never mind I can't post pics.
