tank, when did this happen

Must have been last Friday night. Phoenix had winds recorded at 85-100 mph. Pretty crazy how a relatively small body of water (Havasu) can get so bad.

Yea, it was last weekend I believe.

Lots of damage and talk of sunk or partially sunk boats.

In Michigan we call that A calm day on Lake Michigan
or better known as Cigarette water

Get in the boat and run

Were they all surprised by this storm?

If it were my boat in that mess i would be firing up and taking my chances in the middle of the lake not tied to a bunch of other stranded boats

Weather must have blown in within minutes

Hope everyone was ok and that no one was hurt
fiberglass can be fixed

Havasu gets wild when those monsoons and storms roll in. Been in that situation several times out there. Nothing quite like being chest-high in raging water and wind -- holding boats off -- in the middle of the night.

dont they use frt and rear anchors, turn the nose to the waves.

Have to agree with this one. Far better off under power in deep water away from other boats. The waves really aren't very big compared to the great lakes.

Still can't figure out why everyone beaches their boats that way out here. It would be much easier to get on/off bow out with anchors off the bow and stern. Probably would have prevented a lot of damage in this senario, too.
