IB. Internet Brands. They bought dozens of online communities this year, OSO being one of them. I've visited a number of their other acquisitions- they all grind along laboriously.

IB has been stepping on their own "member" since day one. They completely botched their buyout announcement- allowing their PR agency to release it to the world prior to telling us- the paying members. It was a few days before they even acknowledged it- and then they did it with a pathetic canned statement from one of their middle managers. Then they sent some poor girl into the lion's den- some innocent little Silicon Valley dot-com'er who was devoured swiftly and soundly. And they've steadily worked their way down from there. we thought there would be changes and a bland corporate-ization brought to the site. Boy were we wrong. But they did make it slower.

I had to refresh a page 4 times yesterday, to get it loaded. I have better things to do than that, I'm seriously thinking about sueing them.

Oh man ... So this site officially has no heart now. Its not owned and operated by Boaters?
