what I take happened was that the little (40') boat 'rounded up' thats when the blowboat becomes overpowered by the wind and turns uncontrolably (refered to as 'wiping out')

The smaller boat should not have been that close to the Falcon to begin with if he could not control his boat.

If ignorance is bliss, this is one blissful blowboater.
