Default 496 HO help

I have a 496 HO that consistently runs rough until it warms up. After that, it runs fine the rest of the time. Basically while getting on plane and even after planing it sputters and acts like it is low on power. But after 5 minutes or so it clears up and runs fine (I also let it idle for about 5 minutes too before taking off). Is there some sort of guardian mode or something that is "protecting" the motor until it is warmed up? I appreciate any feedback. Thanks, David

David, if there was something in the "brain" that was holding it back, it would be beeping like crazy. You would know it. It sounds like you have some bad fuel, dirty fuel filter, dirty fuel/water separator, or a bad fuel pump.

I had fuel go bad on mine and it ruined the all three components mentioned above, and not so much as one peep from the Guardian.

My problem ended up being the fuel pressure regulator. Idled fine but stumbled accelerating and slowly lost RPM's down to 4000.

Thanks for the feedback. I will start with the fuel system.
