1forme,
just a thought, but you really get a lot of boat for the money in some of the old Scarabs. I've seen way too many 38's for under 20k. They tend to need lots of re-doing and most all have TRS drives. I basically washed mine, re-did some cosmetic items just to get on the water and turned the key for two seasons of REAL inexpensive boating. Season #3 and 4 I put $600-$700 of odds and ends into mechanical but all in all a VERY cheap way of getting on the water with a vintage wave crusher. Best of luck to you - Jeff

There are projects all over. By the time you get done finishing them, you will have double the money invested that you could have bought a complete boat for. Not to mention everything will take 5-10 times the amount of time that you thought it would.

Look for something that need some TLC and maybe power.

Welcome to the site. Knots need not apply here. Most of us talk in MPH. (If Not all, 98% of us)

If I were you and on that Budget, Id start smaller. you can still have an "Offshore" even at 24'. Work your way up from there.

Here ya go .. My 24' Cobra 454 with Gary Williams carb and Hardin P1000 Exhausts, Merc2 Tranny with a TRS Drive.

Plus all new Interior last winter.

12G's takes It and I Guarantee It will run at Least 63MPH on the GPS.
