Well, tommorrows the big day! The boat is all rigged and running. I need to do a few thing yet, like putting on the motor skirt, finishing the rubrail, and changing out the steering wheel. The interior is a few weeks out. The motor is all rebuilt with new rings, etc. I don't think the fact that I can't hammer on it will matter much because it's gonna be outta control before the revs ever get too high. For now I just put a 28 Trophy on it. I'll get more pics and video tommorrow if I don't die first!

I ain't skeered!! But I am old enough to be careful until I see how it handles. This same motor ran 101 mph on one of my 18ft Liberator cats.

Well, finally got it wet. Boat floats real well, but very weight sensative from right to left. Straight skyward on takeoff, but planes quickly. I could only run it about 5 minutes due to a split fuel line on the high pressure side. I barely made it back to the ramp. It hops a bit until I trimmed it, then it was fine up til about 60 where it gets a bit squirrely. I could never open it up for more that a few seconds. Absolutely UNGODLY acceleration! Probably as hard as my twin Liberator with 28's! Does'nt seem to have hardly any prop torque, but don't let go of the wheel or you'll be swimming.
Here's a couple of quick videos of me coming by the ramp. It's in a little cove, so not much speed here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsNU9gOVYm8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MRVPyyvLhDs http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...n/100_1795.jpg http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...n/100_1796.jpg http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...n/100_1797.jpg http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...n/100_1798.jpg |
