Hey Jonas. I have heard it's hard for Americans to own property there. Is that the case. Wish I was on Island time. Good luck.

Hi David
No its not hard,
Its easier than the US.
+ things like property taxes are super low, 300k house about 300- A YEAR..
You just have to hold title to property in a Trust,
similar in many ways to how we do it in the US with a trust.
Lenders like Ge, compass, Laredo wouldnt lend if there was an issue with owning in mexico,

you should buy a place its nice!!

Jonas,
Do have any involvement in vacation rentals ? We've stayed at the Velas Vallarta the past years but are looking for a change and possibly a rental for a month vs. one week.

Jonas,
Thanks for the fast reply. We're not looking for a time share this time. I'll discuss with my wife later and get a feel from her regarding what she would like.
The mention of Raicilla in a earlier post reminded me of our trip last year.
A panga fisherman maned Alberto took us on a inland visit and we spent most of the afternoon in the area of Hacienda El Divisadero after a few Raicillas and far to many beers at each house we visited our day ended early !!
We've wandered around the Marina some and saw a top gun at the gas dock last Feb..
more later,
ed
