STOLEN POWERPLAY!!! S Florida
Please be on the lookout for my 2005 Powerplay. The boat has 525's and ITS drives and is on a Hi-Tech triple axle trailer. The boat was taken from Deerfield Beach FL sometime since October 25. The boat was in a locked, gated yard on Hillsboro Blvd and was just discovered missing tonight. We are reviewing video tapes and hopefully I'll have something to post in the morning. I am numb right now - the boat had been moved out of rack storage for only a week and 2 days. Please call the Broward County Sheriff's Department at (954) 765-4321, or me at 954-325-9468 with any information. Thanks in advance for any help. I'm trying to post pictures but having problems right now. The boat is in my avatar.

Thanks Speedgirl - finally got my computer working. This morning has been extremely frustrating. I cannot get the Sheriff's to assign me a detective so I'm in the process of driving around myself with fliers and calling the State Police, Coast Guard, etc. etc. Any other suggestions on getting the word out on this?

Call the harbor masters in both Freeport and Bimini and let them know.
|
It is good that you are not waiting for a local detective to be assigned. You might also try the FBI. There were a couple boats stolen in NJ last year that turned out to be heisted by an interstate ring. This was not found out until the FBI were contacted while the local cops were trying to figure out who would get stuck with the case. Good luck!
|
That is one great looking boat and it would be hard to hide. Hope you find it.
|
Beautiful boat. What a kick in the nuts. Bastards should be strung up by their sacs.
|
Anything come of the video tapes?
|
Post on every board you can find
www.speedwake.com www.boatfreaks.org www.seriousoffshore.com If you have any clubs in the area post on their board. Does Florida power boat club have one? I hope that you find her in one piece unfortunately the odds are against that :( |
Best of luck to you! Hopefully they find it fast before they it's stripped.
|
OMG. That is the nicest 33 PP out there. Sorry hear this.
|
ttt
|
unreal..we will be on the look out. you cant hide that boat.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions, calls, etc. The owner of the storage yard has one day that may be of interest on the video tapes, but we are still waiting to hear from a detective to review the tape. I got a call this afternoon from a board member who saw the boat October 28th (a week ago which means the boat was stolen within 3 days of my moving it to the storage yard). It was on the trailer on the side of I-595W where it merges with 75N Alligator Alley underneath an overpass before you hit the tolls for Alligator Alley. He told me that the boat definately had no drives and appeared to also be missing both motors from what he could see at 70mph. He commented that he couldn't believe someone would leave a new boat unattended to at the side of the road. I immediately drove there this afternoon, but as expected the boat was gone. I contacted Florida Highway Patrol and they did not tow it, and neither did FDOT. I'll be contacting towing companies tomorrow (although they technically should be on file with the FHP if they towed it). I also stopped and handed out fliers to road workers excavating part of the road. Unfortunately no luck - it appears that it was abandoned under the bridge and the hull and trailer was picked up by someone else. Please continue to keep your eyes open because it appears to me that the hull and trailer may very well still be nearby, and are not in a shipping container or docked in Bimini. Also, the motors are Mercury Racing 525's OM901148 and OM901151. Drives are ITS shorties.

Could the Department of Highways have a video of the boat at alligator Alley before or at the Toll. also check with them and see if they have any camera on the Highway. You have a date for them to be able to check it out. |
wow. thats a beautiful boat, hope you get it back....

That is almost definitely why they dumped it there............Before the tollbooth:mad:
Maybe there are other camera's some where on the Highway. The boat had to go some where. |
nice looking boat... even if I'm far, I'll keep an eye open, we never know!
Good luck... |
Come on Florida boys, keep your eyes open, I believe this was the last 33 built by PowerPlay and that makes her kinda special.
Jromy, We all missed running with you on the Long Island Sound this summer, hope you get her back soon. Morgan |
The power of OSO....!
Mike (The Donz), I can't thank you enough for getting ahold of me tonight and spotting the boat. I'll post more tomorrow, but boat (hull) is back in amazingly good shape. I am extremely happy to have it back. Motors, drives, and tabs are gone from the boat (extremely cleanly removed) and from all appearances are ready to bolt right into place on another boat. If anyone knows of a blank hull that suddenly appears in the next couple days with 525's and ITS, we'll have the next piece of the puzzle. Witnesses report a grey diesel truck, white male with a ballcap leaving the boat in Palmetto Bay- Old Cutler and 168th Street in an empty field next to Starbucks. Police pulled numerous prints off the boat - hopefully we have a hit. Thanks again to everyone that has contacted me. I am almost as in much shock right now to have the boat back as I was to have it disappear!!
|
glad to hear you have the boat back unfortunately they took what they wanted :(. Obviously someone knew what they wanted and how to get it out in short order.
|
That was easily the nicest 33 PP ever built. Sorry it got messed up this week.......
|
sorry for your loss and hasles. But that is great news!! Hope you get the guys.
|
WOW amazing that you got it back and it sounds like in such good shape. Any boat places locally that could handle that job? Maybe an employee grabbed it and stripped it with or with out the owners knowledge... Sounds like who ever took it is familiar with how to disasemble that stuff.
|
J,
Glad to hear you got her back home, and hopefully the police can get a hit off the finger prints, and catch the d!cks who did this. Dean |
Wow, the power of the internet works again. I can't believe people try this.
A little back alley justice would be nice for the a$$ wipes that did this |
It's great that you got it back, do you plan on putting 525's back in or larger power?
|
WOW - glad to hear you have her back!!!!
Sorry to hear of this violation. Hope they catch the D!CKS.
Now comes the fun of dealing with insurance. I am surprised that a crew with the knowledge and skill didn't use gloves when they worked on it??? Maybe if you start thinking about what new power you will be putting in it may ease the pain a bit? Keep us updated. |
Glad it was found. My boat was found too but in much worse shape than yours. You're lucky the bastards didn't cut your hull up like they did mine.
|
Hey JROMY, glad to hear you got it back. Mike told me this morning. If you need any help with the insurance claim, let me know.
