Just heard there were some complications and things are more serious. Can anyone confirm??

Ryan Beckley 11-11-2008 10:58 AM

Jim is in ICU at Jackson Memorial in Miami.......he did not need surgery but is under observation for a stroke. His Aorta was stretched and swelled which caused a loss of pressure. They have the swelling under control and has regained feeling / movement in his right side. This info was from Schluess who is at the hospital. We will keep you updated. Please keep Jim in your thoughts.

Update on Jim (YO)

I left Jim a short time ago. Stan Ware from POPEYS was still at his side.
Jim suffered a stoke yesterday that paralyzied his left side caused by the helmet and /or helmet strap being violently riped off his head. His carodid artery suffered an internal laceraction, a very very rare injury. That caused an interuption of blood flow to the brain and the stroke.
Great response from SBI and OSS team docs got him setup and medivaced to Jackson Memorial in Miami, a Level One Trama Center.
They have him with the best docs in the field. He is getting some movement back on his left side. They already stared some theapy. Thank God the stroke did not affect any of his cognitive functions. Hell be in the Neuro ICU at least another day or two. The docs said its a miracle that the functon is returning so soon.
Keep the prayerss coming.

Does anybody have the latest news about Jim,s condition ?Can he have any visiters ?We hope Jim has a speedy recovery !!

family fan 11-14-2008 11:01 PM

Rick, if you read this - it's Andrea, by now I'm sure someone has contacted you, if not, call us at home in Watchung. P.S. why are you back in Montana?

Joey (Jim's Cousin) has been down there with Netta since day one, but coming home tonight. I will be going down on Monday.

Jim is eagerly wanting to go home and is gaining strength every day, & we hope he will come home within a week or two.

As everyone knows with serious injuries, it's a day by day thing, but so far so good. He's a trooper!

Someone asked if he was able to have visitors...I only know that it has been only family and close friends by his side every day.

Thanks for everyone's support :D

AB From Windsor 11-15-2008 09:02 AM
