"Rescue divers were deployed from a helicopter to aid the crew of Popeyes, when their Super Cat boat rolled over violently during the ninth lap in Sunday's final race, according to medical and safety coordinator Donald DiPetrillo.

Throttleman Stan Ware of Gonzales, La., was treated and released from Lower Keys Medical Center, while driver Jim Natoli of New York City was airlifted to Ryder Trauma Center in Miami on Monday, DiPetrillo said. Tuesday morning, DiPetrillo said Natoli was listed in serious but stable condition at Ryder."

The windshield should hold, only thing i can think is that the boat has been upside before, maybe it should have been replaced. Maybe it was, idk, just speculation. Hoping for a quick and full recovery for Jim.

I looked at the boat after it was pulled out. At the time not knowing the condition of its occupants, i felt picture taking would be innappropriate. The boat was beat up on one side a little bit. Engine hatch was messed up. Most noticeable damage was the canopy. It all looked very repairable. One of the worst parts for them is it happened in salt water, that makes a mess of everything.
