I would be concerned with fire hazzards of vinyl. we drag race and we try not to use anything flamable in the cockpit of the race cars. Its nice that the SS or aluminum will offer some fire resistence to the engine bay .IMO

Polished aluminum diamond plate with high-gloss clear powder coat. Powdercoating was the last thing done afer all the cutting, forming and drilling was done. That way, there are no edges for corrosion to start at. The first picture on the bench is before powder coating. The powdercoat reduced the shine a small amount, but I had some prismatic powder added to the clear to help bling it back up some. The clear candy colors work well, too.
