Very sketchy inlet also...... It is listed on nav. charts as a drainage/flushing inlet...Not Navigatable. The inlet is blind on the ocean side, meaning from the ICW side you can't see out the inlet so if you make a pass at speed and encounter a 30 ft Sea Ray it will be new underwear for both captains.......if you both don't end up on the rocks!

friggin awesome. I love it. :ernaehrung004:

That is a crazy inlet. I could stay there all day watching the boat traffic navigate it.

150 m.p.h. and no life vests? Thanks a-hole. That's why my insurance rates are so high.

No OUR insurances are high because everyone that has the smallest problems CLAIM it and they know they broke it from mis-use.. Instead they use the Under Water Realestate excuse!! Or they blow a motor and say they sucked a Bag from the water.... THAT IS WHY THE INSURANCE IS SO HIGH!!
There are more A** holes out there then 6 people going fast in a 50' boat!!
just my .02 cents....

Life jacket at 150 mph, at least they could recover your bodies.

:drink: That's exactly what I was thinking...Like it's going to matter if you're wearing life vest in an open cockpit boat at 150mph!:rolleyes:

How about we just enjoy the video????!!!

JROMY 01-03-2009 10:40 PM

...and I don't think your insurance company is insuring too many turbine powered cats...

If you think $6000 a year for a "smaller cat" isn't that much than you are a baller.

I disagree. With most people having a 5% of value deductible, I doubt people are claiming little things.

I'm familiar with the term you use, "a-hole". "baller", however, is a new one i'm unfamiliar with.

I know the owner of this boat.

First I don't take safety lightly but this "assuming everyone has to wear a spacesuit with four condoms on top while wrapped up in lanyards like Pavarotti in a wetsuit to go fishing with the electric motor boat attitude" annoys me a tad.

As I mentioned I know the owner of this rig and he is a responsible, very intelligent successful business man. If he wants to go out with his boat and wipe himself out, my guess is he doesn't need anyone's blessing . However I doubt that is his goal.

I have been 135 on a 36 Nortech and 150 on a 50 Nortech must be somewhat in the same ball park as it relate to stability, which is to say just as safe as one of our V hulls at 80 or 90 in the same seas...

I doubt a Turbine boat is insured or insurable so it does not affect your insurance rate what so ever.

In the end I respect that people in my mind are adults and make their own decisions. They also rightfully so suffer the consequences of their actions and it affects them and loved ones. However I don't need anyone on a soapbox telling me to wear a helmet when I go to the bathroom or break out the pads & leathers for shuffleboard...

To each his own and the ones telling me how to live my life should get a life on their own, they are the real a-hole as some of you put it.

Great Video Thanks for posting it.

As said before here, very well put. I also know the current owner of this boat, and he is on our dock in Chicago. And BTW, the video of "Warbird" running that was posted in the 1st post, is NOT with my friend, the current owner of the boat driving it, must've been the previous owner. So before anyone else makes another stupid comment about a driver of any boat, atleast make sure you have the current owner/driver.

Men in hospital after boat crashes into sea wall at Boynton inlet
By DIANNA SMITH

Palm Beach Post Staff Writer

Two men were rushed to the hospital this evening after the boat they were in crashed into a sea wall in the Boynton Inlet.

Their names and conditions were not available tonight.

Witnesses told the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office that the boat was speeding through the inlet at Ocean Inlet Park when the boaters apparently lost control, said Teri Barbera, the sheriff's office spokeswoman. Deputies received the call at 5:30 p.m.

When the U.S. Coast Guard arrived, the boat was ripped in half, said Steve Beasley, officer at the Coast Guard station in Riviera Beach. Part of the boat sunk while the other section drifted into the Atlantic Ocean.

Officers could not determine the boat type, but Beasley estimates the boat itself was about 30 feet long.

One man was flown to Delray Medical Center while the other was taken by ambulance to Bethesda Memorial Hospital.

Over trimming that 28 in you avatar isn't the safest thing I have seen. Watch when throwing stones!!!!
your hull is almost half the size so that means we better not see pics of you running 75+ with no jackets.
Bitc*ing is one thing BOY calling someone driving a 1,000,000 plus machine a a-hole is a nother!!

I believe it was Jules Tremblay driving Warbird in that video. One of my favorite boats of all time. I don't know about the inlet, but it was obvious that Warbird crushed the 2-3' swells it ran through that day. A safe boat at any speed IMO.

If ya know him......suggest that he provide some life vests to his guests! He may be responsible guy normally, but he can't control everything! If he's out by himself, no big deal.....but with five others.....toss around some jackets. Many people that are guests just don't know what can go wrong and basically trust the captain to make sure things go well and keep them safe.
