At least it's not too cold to go boating! :grinser010:

36Tango 01-16-2009 11:07 AM

I'll bet that there were some engine blocks cracking in the past few days down in the south where the level of winterizing is somewhat optional.

At 30 below this morning, we broke an all time low. The previous low temperature record ever was set YESTERDAY! It appears like the cold weather will be breaking sometime today. The stuff sucks.

ApachePete 01-16-2009 11:15 AM

Gotta love this Global Warming!

Don't tell Al Gore.

wantingmore 01-16-2009 12:48 PM

Hell, I know it's cold when I'm wearing shoes to work instead of flip-flops!

PhantomChaos 01-16-2009 04:06 PM

Today it was only a high of 86....I'm gonna wait till it gets warmer this weekend to go boating. :D

masi242 01-16-2009 04:11 PM

getreal 01-16-2009 05:53 PM

It was 81 in Santa Barbara today. But will be in the high 50's tonight, does that count?

bmanafort 01-16-2009 06:06 PM

-1 this morning and it is suppose to be -4 tomorrow morning. These temps dont take in account the windchill factor. Havent seen these type of temps in years.

Lmarth 01-16-2009 07:01 PM

Almost down to zero this morning. Of course Al Gore wants me to believe the planet is in critical risk of drastic Global Warming.

formula 382 sr-1 01-16-2009 08:48 PM

Cold up in Maine as well. My heater has not shut off all night and it is still a little bit of a chill in the house. Going to work on the sled today then go home because we are sapposed to get abouta 1/2 to a foot of new snow Sunday.

Payton 01-17-2009 06:36 AM

We had a low of -19 on Friday morning and -7 on Thursday. Last night when we went to bed it was -8 and the wind switched out of the SW. This morning at 6:00 am it was +14.

Friday morning it was 21 below zero. Sat morn (today) it was 19 above zero and snowing. That is a 40 degree swing in a day. At least it was sunny on Friday, made it feel like only 10 below !!!

Cash Bar 01-17-2009 04:24 PM

Wow.

And here I was bittchin about sweating in yard running my new RC boat in the lake. :grinser010:

Cash Bar 01-17-2009 04:25 PM

This is why we duck hurricanes to live here.

Hurricanes are a crapshoot, Winter is a sure thing.

scottw 01-17-2009 04:36 PM

It's 18 here in New Jersey right now. Dog took a leak on the concrete and it froze in 15min.

ACTIVESHACK 01-18-2009 10:28 AM

I went duck hunting yesterday. We broke ice the whole way going out and it was 7 degrees when we got in the blind. I took a turkey sandwich out of my bag at 9 and the meat was frozen. And we only killed 7 ducks

chuckbeecher 01-18-2009 10:31 AM

Now that he has finished the internet, Al Gore is working on designing global warming.

cold as balls here!! so whats the deal with these pics? do people usually leave their boats in all winter?

HaxbySpeed 01-18-2009 09:09 PM

Ya, the ocean usually doesn't freeze here!! We had a cold snap just before christmas and I had to get my boat out to go on a service call. Record lows and lots of snow which we never get. I attribute it to global warming and not enough subsidized housing for the homeless!
