Default Suggestions for Road Trip

This summer, I am thinking of going on a road trip through the US. It will be just me, as our family had a vacation all together for two weeks last year, and they are not ready for that again yet, they do not want to come. So I get to do what I want.

I would be interested in any suggestions with respect to offshore boating things I could do on the way, such as races to watch, factory tours, boat rides, etc. I plan to go in July, and not bring my boat. My plan so far, in terms of cities is something like this:

Toronto-Detroit-Chicago-?-Reno-Vancouver-Seatle-West Coast-San Diego-Las Vegas-Arizona-Texas-New Orleans-St Louis-Toronto. But it is totally flexible.

I am not planning to go to Florida, or New York or anywhere East, because I have been there enough. Thanks for your suggestions.

You have a boat and want to do a boating related road trip, but aren't taking the boat??????

Where are you starting????

Go to LOTO, go directly to LOTO, do not pass GO.
Hit Havasu or maybe Lake Cumberland depending on where you're going or coming from.

Couple of good races in the Detroit area in July as well as the Red Bull Air Races right on the river. You can buy a ticket to go on a tour boat and sit on the water or watch from shore. That was a good time.
