What amazes me is that incredibly stable ride. Btw, what kind of prop do you use JB747?

The prop in the video is a 3 blade round ear stainless labbed 18 pitch (no name on prop, might be a turbo prop). The round ear semi chopper style is a good all purpose prop. I also have a Ron Hill custom 3 blade 18 pitch cleaver that is faster with the engine raised, but I need to modify the water pickup slots to raise it even higher. The motor has a couple of tricks done to it including disconnecting the rev limiter. I have ran it to 6700rpm, with additional mods and tweaking/dialing- in would like to hit 60.

Did you use the NAUTICUS SMART TABS ST780-20?

I just got a 12ft Chinese Cub knock off that is brand new and needs fitting out. Am putting an 07 50hp Tohatsu with electric start/trim and 15 inch shaft. Hopefully I will go close to as well as you did.

Yes, and I set them at the lightest setting. My Cub is 10' long with a 4' beam. What is the beam on your boat? My bare hull is 335 lbs, 500+ with engine and fuel.

To view the boat, go to Ebay, item number 300371085447. It is Australian Ebay, so if it doesn't work on your regular Ebay, try ebay.com.au

The bare hull is 180kg or 360 pounds, 3 metres 10ft long and 1.2m 4ft wide.

I just ordered a set of tabs. It is wonderful when you don't have to reinvent the wheel. Thanks

According to the Tohatsu website, a 50 weighs 85kg, or 170lbs.

JB
Im finally getting back to mine this winter.
I have it all stripped apart, Deck off and picked up a 40HP short shaft for it.
Did you mount your fuel tank? I saw somewhere(other site) somebody that cut the bulkhead and mounted one a little farther up front. I think they said it did not ride good till a half of tank.

No fuel tank yet. Thinking of a plastic outboard tank I can move around till I find the right spot. I am open to suggestions.

How about the battery, where have you mounted that?

I thought you had a short shaft.

The one I am getting built will have electric start and tilt/trim. Tohatsu goes down to a 15 inch (actually 17 inch) shaft. Or should I go a 20. Now is the time for me to make this decision.

The brochure says:
Recommended outboard: 15" shaft.

Your engine is 40lbs heavier than JB's. I am affraid that it is not a good boat/engine combination.
