Boat Damage?
#1
Looking at a cruiser at Lake ozark. Its an 01 model, 496 volvo, 400 hrs. Its deck, windshield, and bimini were damaged to the tune of $14k in the 07 ice storm. Seller reports all work done expertly by the dealer, as was all normal maintenance up until two yrs ago. Now the marina its at maintains it. Its listed at 50k, and average NADA retail right now is 33k......
How much do you discount from there for high hrs, and the fact its not stock?

Expertly repaired? Be careful. Many substandard repairs were done by "fly by night" outfits on damaged boats after that storm. Is it by chance a Sea Ray listed at Marine Max? If so, I can point you to someone that will give you the honest skinny on the boat.

No, its not a sea ray. Said the dealer did the work and gave me the info.

So i guess I am confused?? you are considering buying a boat for 22K over NADA, PLEASE COME TO MY BOAT LOT, I will happily knock 10K off 25K over NADA on a boat that had substantial damage??????????? WTF ???? Am i missing something??

No......most certainly not. They guy has it priced 20k over nada, also knowing it has had 14k of repairs made to it. Im curious what its correct value is?

Thinking faster than I can type. I would say 20% minus retail is a good # to start with. But I got to be honest with you, any dealer who thinks his used boat with 400 hours is worth that much over NADA, I wouldn't even bother with
