Tres Marting School of Performance
 

We are looking for more to join the class being offered in North East, MD on May 26th and May 27th. Tres will be giving us his course and we have 3 possibly 4 right now..

I have read on here that some are interested in taking his course.. If there is a way we can do it all together then we can save some Coin in the process.

PM me if you are interested. We will use the Nauti-Goose Saloon ( Home of the Rock the Bay poker run) for our meeting room. We can launch at Anchor Boats and leave the boats there over night. It is very Safe and it will be easy with the Ramp right next to the restaraunt.

I Hope to see more people take the course.

I hope Tres will chime in here shortly... I know it was $2500 for one.. and it goes down Fast with more.. I got a PM already.. I think if we get 6-10 he might pay us....LMAO

I "heard" that 3-5 it is really reasonable...

He will chime in at some point...

The tution for the Ultra Course is $2500.00 The performance course is $1500.00

Difference defined by straight bottom mono hulls less than 75 MPH.

The cost savings is realized by shared coverage of actual travel and expenses.

So the only savings is the plane ticket and the hotel for the two days ? So it does or doesn't matter how many is in the class.??

Thats some cash for a course. Its a few tanks of fuel and runs to block for me.. Think id enjoy the ride more.

I really wanted to take the ultra course for 100mph+ but my boat won't be ready by then, Chit! Don't suppose there's a way to jump in on someone elses ride for the class? I'm looking for cat hull classes. Sorry I can't help.

Paul wants to get the group of us and head over to his house in NJ one weekend.. He said 5 cats heading down the bay would be cool run together... Stop at the Inn for a drink and head over from there...
We would have to leave a little earlier then you... Or you just have to ease out of the Sticks so we can all keep up with you.

Thanks for the reply and the possible use of your ride. Pretty sure mine won't be finished by then? Do you have some more information on when you would like to do this and total expence? I've noticed that the dates set up are changed quite often. I guess it's hard to cordinate 4 guys schedule and then make it work for Tres too. The eason the dates change is because alot of the course may be insurance driven. The confirmed date are ones with 2 or more already signed. The reason you see the dates change also is when there is a location the is on the calendar without a sign up and someone request a date a signs up for another location, that one goes away. Also when a location has no sign up with 3-4 weeks we cancel it because of travel cost really increase 3 weeks before travel. You know these Airlines change the price by the hour 3 weeks proir to departure.

For the St. Clair date in May, do you have a boat lined up? Is this just a general course or high performance? Might be interested as I just purchased my first "step" boat last year. Haven't had any problems, but I hear there is lots to learn.

What dates do you have in mind.. It has to be after May 25th. I have every week and weekend until then booked in May. I got that.... J O B thing going on... plus the boy turns 2 so the wife has the whole state shut down for the party... It will be all but televised.. unless she didn't tell me about that...

So anyway.. What dates are you thinking.

Tres has said to ask those of you who have taken the course some questions, so if you don't mind...............

How many in your class?

How much one on one time did you get in your boat on the water with Tres?

Did he run your boat and show you how things are done? Then have you repeat the deal? Or just coach you thru it? Generally how does the on water part work?

Was it worth the $2500 to take the course, in your opinion?

There are a few of us in this area that have been talking about this and we would all appreciate any info you can share with us. Thanks in advance.

you use your own boat, it looks like in your post you are asking if he has a boat lined up. this way you learn to drive your boat safer and handle better at speed from what I have been told which is a good thing.:Score-101010: for all of us I just need to get my boat together and stop adding changes

There were 3 in our class.

Well over 2 hours ON Water in MY boat. He and I only. He drove and showed me some things than let me have at it with him coaching. Walks you thru situations you could get yourself into. He will work with you till YOU are comfortable.
Safety in 1st on the list. Show syou things to look for in the rigging and boat in general.

This is my first T/S and with all the horror stories, I feel the price for peace of mind is key.
