THere is a boat in in NJ , Ruthless , an older 46 with 1300's and seats 5 open cockpit ,ran 177 mph on radar at the shoot out here ! He said they were doing bigger motors this year !
Why did they say they use escorts with that boat ? If it's on a tilt trailer ,thats the purpose , to raise one side ,kind of stand it on end , so that it is under 8 1/2 ' wide at the cross section . A 46' Skater is 12' wide . You don't need escorts till you are over 14'. I haul my 39' x 12' Ocean express cat all the time with no problems . Just have over size sign front and back and a flag on all 4 corners .
THat boat sounds cool though with closed canopy for 5 ! Probably air conditioned too ! Run rain or shine ! Now thats boating !

The guy that owns this thing is experienced with high speed cat driving! His last boat was a 36 Skater that, I believe, ran in the 150-160 mph range! At one time, I think his old 36 had a record set at 179 mph?? It was at the poker run in Havasu last year.

Guys the boat ran 158 out of the factory it's first weekend on havasu. It's a big heavy ride with lots of extras but it will never see anything but the back of scott's boat. It's mighty fine none the less. NK
