Mr. Offshore - I did leave most of the front bulkhead bare to show the MSO and serial number sheet. They are both laminated into the bulkhead - pretty hard to tamper with that. Here's a shot from the rigging process. (And yes - that IS an air conditioning pump at the bottom of the frame.)

The idea is to stuff so much motor in that you can't see the bilge! This was my old 42 Fountain. Triple 750 Teagues. I need to get one of those digital cameras. Some of you guys have great, clear shots and up-close even!

i got pricing on that fiberglass diamond plate.
They want $1040 plus shipping from NJ for two 8'x4' sheets!!!!! I can buy aluminium diamond plate and fiberglass supplies and make my own for way less than that!!!!! |
Puder you got to be kidding
For that price I will stick with the aluminum |
I'd rather have aluminum too , but Where do you buy it !!!!!!
|
Speaking of diamond plate. What is the chosen method of securing it to the bilge area. Liberal
amounts of silicone adhesive? I would assume you would want to seal up the edges as not not allow water to get underneath the plating. Comments? Paul |
Does anybody have pictures of their engine compartment that has the exhaust going out the side? I'd like to put a set of side exhaust on my boat.:D

Regarding the aluminum treadplate...
When we built our race car hauler, we went to an aluminum supply place that sells to trailer and undustrial manufacturers. They sold us sheets of 4' x 8' that was 1/8" thick tread plate for about $120.00 The thinner the sheet, the cheaper the price. Don't know about polished or anodized. Most any large metal distribution place can get it. Also, race car trailer manufacturers will have some in stock.
One thing to remember, most all treadplate has a thin coat of oil to protect it during the shipping process, so this must be COMPLETELY cleaned before installation. We used windshied ureathane glue, and never had one bit of trouble, but I'm really not sure if you would want to do that to fiberglass or not. |
