yes...as you make the left towards the biscayne bridge coming from the ocean there is a waterway that leads into downtown miami. There is place you can grab lunch that has a big pool and decent food.

Thats the Miami River and I have been there before. As a matter of fact I had lunch and cocktails with your parents at that bar

For a local latin taste go up the river a bit and on the north side(your right) you'll have Casablanca Fish Market, some of the best freshest(they have their own fishing boats) seafood in the area.
