Didn't we just go through this sappy routine a year ago?

Default Cliff Reif

Hi,

I am Cliff Reif's daughter. He lived in Dayton, Ohio. He was involved in the APBA and president for several years. He raced outboards in the JJ class throughout the 1960's and his boat was STAMPER.

I think T2X seemed to know him as well as his friends Karl Kiekhaefer, Merlin Culver, his son Jon Culver, John Keller, Gary Garbrecht, Charlie Strang, Bob Hammond, etc.

I would love to hear stories about his racing days and his time with Mercury, Glastron, and Hammond.

Thanks for any information,
CliffReif'sDaughtr

I knew Cliff and he was amazing guy. He owned the Dayton Stamping Company which , among other things, made the car emblems for the auto manufacturers to bolt on the car bodies. This is where the name "Stamper" came from on his race boats. He is best known for his collaborations with Jon Culver ( Later chief referee for APBA Offshore)when they dominated the OPC marathon world in a series of dual engine Glastrons. I believe the final race boat to carry the name "Stamper" was a 20 foot Jones tunnel with a pair of Merc Stackers.

The bottom line...Cliff was definitely one of the people who we all owe a debt of thanks to for helping create and advance the sport we all love.
