Great Day at the Marina
I wanted to let everyone know how today went. I had an appointment with someone on a Sunsation 32 deal at 9am. Next thing I knew it was 3pm we had 6 test drives under our belt from an 18' Preowned Stingray to another 32 Sunsation. To me, this was great, I wish I could say I wrote all the deals, but it was a good feeling to see people out at the marina with interest in spending money. The fact that it was in the 60's in March helped as well.
I wanted to share this as hopefully a look to the future. This is not a post on how great or how bad someone is doing. This is my opinion, and I am hoping this is a turn for the better in our industry as a whole. I sincerely hope all other marinas are seeing interest in their clients along with new clients walking through the door.

If you have any serious buyers it sure seems like now is the time. Boats of all makes and models appear to be the cheapest they have ever been. If it is priced fairly it should sell. However you still run into a lot of tire kickres that will sit on the sidelines because they are not qualified to buy anything on this site. If they worked as hard at their regular profession, as they do tirekickin, they probably could come off the sidelines and buy a boat.
Glad to hear the activity level at your marina is picking up. I hope it results in actual sales for your facility.

I've been getting more calls too! I had some guys in from Germany Thursday - Friday who ordered alot of parts and a new Merc 300xs motor. I have another guy from Germany flying in next weekend on a new 24 Checkmate, and another flying in from Canada to buy a new 21 Liberator. I hope this means things are loosening up.

I think this is the general feeling everyone is starting to have. People are slowly getting out and starting to spend money. We are getting busier at work, I've been getting calls daily on our condo we have listed. It just feels like maybe things are starting to take shape. New home starts have been up here in Michigan which is awesome. Got to keep it going though. I think the key is keeping the gas prices down, but as the DOW keeps rising, so does the price of oil which is not going to help. But it's a start!
