The Fountain fish team run them on their 38' CC, and they like them. They also run the 300XS, and they like those better. I want to say that the XS is as fast, maybe faster, with fuel economy only slightly less than the Verado. The XS is lighter and if my memory serves me correct, they said they had less maintenance issues with the XS.
This is all second hand. I am sure people with first hand experience will chime in.

I talked to a guy running a 34 Yellowfin. He said he get's sponsored by Mercury and gets new motors every year. He now has the 350 Verado and said he'd rather have the 300xs any day. He says they run better and less maintenance.

300 Verado's might be better for a pleasure boat. They have a longer warranty.
I have triple 275 Verado's on my 38TE Fountain and they have ben great since I took delivery in September 2005.
check out veradoclub.com for more info on the 350's.
