Read the "History of the 24" on the banana site. www.bananaboatco.com

Go to Products, scroll down to the bottom of the page to History of 24.

Once everyone realized that Don was not going to pursue anyone who splashed this first design, everyone and their brother made a copy......so, you have stated above incorrectly....all 24 footers are not alike.

This is my 1985 BRT that I restored front to back in 2002 , it had a 550 hp gen IV 454 , imco 2 inch shortie , imco setback box with 3 inch lift , custom dash and seating , ran with OPA for a few years , ran 80 on GPS in non race trim .

I sold the boat to a friend who runs it on lake Lewisville in Ft Worth TX area . I now own a 32 Skater O.B which is undergoing full resto
One thing about BRT , great solid boat , will go through the roughest water no problem and many times friends in other boats many larger would complain how rough the water was and the BRT would eat the rough stuff up , go with I.O BRT , it is too easy to make big power VS having 2 clamp ons on such a small boat

The 1st time i was in a BRT was the Camden OPA race with this boat and owner. The boat ran awesome and we slid the boat full bore into corners like a car. We also caught other faster class 5 boats, he had the combination down. who ever designed this particular design hit it right on. I am sure it also has to do with rigging as well.
