+1 on this... just factor a plane ticket into the cost of the boat. Pretty cheap insurance to make sure the boat is what YOU want. I just bought my second boat long distance, but made a point to go see both of them in person. Then again, my old-lady says I have a pretty good case of OCD. Good luck! :ernaehrung004:

I plan on going through alot of this boat anyway. I was more concerned about making sure I end up with a boat and a title for my money. I found a hauler that alot of people use around here to inspect, water test, and then haul it home. After he looks it over I can wire money and he can pull home. He's already going to be in that region of the country when I need it. This is exactly the type of solution I was looking for.
OK,,,,,solved ....NEXT PLEASE !!!!!!:drink: |
Sounds like he already had his mind made up before he asked the question. Anyway, good luck dispite all the comments to the contrary. How about we start the I got ripped off thread now?

Your hauler is a licenced surveyor?
|
I had a survey done and didn't go look at my last one. I will not ever do that again. One of the biggest mistakes I've made. Plane ticket and a nice vaction would have been alot cheaper.

I'd recommend a survey performed by a certified surveyor. I just returned from a 2700mi trip to bring home my 'new' Wellcraft Nova II. Bought it relying on good pics and long conversations with the PO. She looks even better than in the pics, is in excellant condition and runs very well. The PO deposited and held my deposit money in case I wanted to back out after being able to see and test it.
There are still some honest and reliable people out there. |

There are still some honest and reliable people out there. I had a big survey company from texas looking at mine ,,even with contract and i thought it was cool ,,,,got screwed big time by the surveyor and the seller !!!! NO NO NO NO NO !!!!!!!! Either every buyer looks at it in person and takes a friend that knows something about boats with him ,,,,or don't even bother ,,because u will have more surprises that u wish for !!! Thats a fact ,and as hard as it sounds the majority of it . |
