Default Long distance boat buying

May be buying a boat I am having surveyed. Cant go see it and cant go get it. How do i do the transaction so it protects both the sellers and buyers interests when I am 1600 miles away.

Use the sellers bank to wire transfer the money, you take the boat and his bank holds the title until the transfer clears then forwards it to you.

Don't do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I never understand the mentality of people who will buy an expensive item sight unseen. In 1 month you will be posting how you got ripped off, and how the condition was wrong. DON"T DO IT....

I had a great experience buying my Cafe' sight unseen. Of course I had Ed Cozzi survey and sea trial it for me and then wired the money when the boat was inspected by me and hooked up to bring home.

The whole transction only took about an hour once I was in Florida to pick up the boat.

Maybe I was just lucky but I had complete faith in Ed and his opinion.
