I kinda figured that, most of the time you get what you pay for!

I've got one. Tested it by sticking it out the window of my truck as I drive down the road. I get about 2-3 reading that are right on what the speedo is reading. Then for no reason I get a reading that is way out in leftfield - Bottom line - who knows.

You betcha! I'm gonna run it against a couple of different handhelds to compare accuracy. I'm envisioning a fun toy to have onboard....:D
Now, if it would only get here this week I'll be trying it out this weekend. May even walk out near the street and play... Got my box-anchor in though....;) Rick |
I have used both a radar gun (quality expensive Stalker gun) and my Garmin gps, and IMHO I think the gps is easier and more accurate to use. The gun speeds can vary depending on the person that is using it. If the gun is not aimed correctly speeds can vary. Not to mention they are a ***** to hold steady at triple digit speeds.

I hear ya, but I personally am just buying one for chits and giggles because the price is so cheap. Nothin' but a toy for me..

My posts are just to say
that, For My use its only a Tool as I build and repair Hi-Performance Boats. You have to aim the gun at a large object when you ON a boat, I can't remember ever seeing a motor cop riding his bike with one hand and using the gun with the other. Its just another way for me to compare Boats and compare changes to boats. Works for me. Someone should put up a thread about items dropped or lost/destroyed while boating, Should be some funny stories. Mike J. |
forget radar. there are too many variables and too many outcomes. gps is too easy and has no variables. the repeatability of the gps beats the radar.

I was just thinking that if it worked, maybe a few of my friends might have our own little shoot-out. and a radar gun
to register the speeds from shore or a nearby boat would be great. |
Sucks
I sent mine back. I was shooting cars and it wouldn't pick up till they were right on you. I don't want to be shooting boats that close:eek:
