Can you see the race from the Westin? I hear cruise ships docked near the Westin block the ocean views... are they much of an issue?

I don't think they let cruise ships in on race days. I may be wrong. Last year we watched one day from the westin and another from the dock. Hotel was comfortable and the dock was awesomely close!!! Already booked up for this year.

Yes, you can watch from the Westin. As Joe said, the cruise ships only come in when the races are not active.

Damn, really? Last year we stayed at the Westin, and the cruise ships were there Thursday & Saturday, but cleared out for the Friday race & Sunday? I didn't think the Coast Guard allowed them in the harbor during the races due to safety concerns?

That would SUCK to have your view totally blocked by one of those giants.
