OT - anyone have a weedeater boat?
I have a guy looking to trade me a Dumas 55" Scarab with a green machine motor. Says it has everything, including 1/4 scale servos, just no radio. Needs to be completed.
I have a nitro truck he's interested in, but I'm not sure. I don't know enough about these boats to know what I'm getting into, or if it's a good deal.
What can anyone tell me about this thing?

Maybe a little help?
My buddy has the one Overton's sells for a bout $650. I forget which brand motor is in it- about 30 cc's, but it has a mini Arneson type surface drive and the thing flies all things considered. Takes the baby chop in the cove pretty well too. Hit up your local hobby shops to see what it's worth. Good luck

They are alot of fun. I had a warehouse hobbies 43" boat with a modified motor that would run about 40mph. If you do get it, a word of advice, get a fail safe with it. You don't want it to get a mind of it's own and take off. I had one the did that luckly it ran into shore. New these boats can cost any where from $600 to $2000 bucks fully setup.
Also make sure you put plenty of floatation in it just incase you flip it. Did that to.
Mantenace wise there isn't much.
Have fun
