the new season starts tonight, does anybody else watch this?

Watched the show for the first time about an hour ago; two episodes. I like it!

While I agree that the 'research' legal loophole is a sham, and I agree with Wale War's mission, I am dismayed by the lack of discipline aboard their vessel. I almost hard to watch at times!

I am ex-military, land or sea, there must be a disciplined structure; at ALL times.

There is a Coast Guard guy on here, big poster, hope he's seen the show and chimes in, because he knows it all.

haahaha, your baaddd, those whales could be someones mother, going to see if it repeats to night ,I forgot:grinser010:, and I do wish the whales well all most hit some out hear at 70:eek:, out in cape cod bay we decide to have lunch out in the open water just as I stopped I saw whales poping up all around us and after a while they came with in 10ft of us. we sat there for a hour until they moved on and I took it slow to p town where we tied up for the day.

That god must be really mad seeing humans destroying his creation huh?

Haven't watched this season, but you should have seen last season. Dangerous incompetence. Flipping the RIB with people in it while trying to launch it. The cook who wasn't a good enough cook- so they put him in charge of the helicopter where he promptly hit the blade with a wrench and disabled it. Losing a small boat in the ocean for a few hours because they forgot to turn on the radio. I think the wales should be protecting them.

Amen. The problem is that the entire crew is unpaid. While they all have the best intentions, most if not all of them have zero maritime experience....This season will probably be a new bunch of the same. It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt.

I have to say though that last season when the entire crew threw a party and got schnokered it was funny watching the aftermath. The only thing worse than a inexperienced crew, is a drunk inexperienced crew....lol

I like the last episode from last season when he got pretend shot and his fake badge saved him.

I think it's a great thing they are trying to do. Unfortunitally, I don't think the whales have a chance if this is who they have to protect them.
What a bunch of monkeys! Their main weapon is throwing bottles onto the ships. The only problem they can even come close to getting a bottle on the ship. Then they throw a rope contraption in the water and expect it to go aroung the props. The draft on those shops has to be 30 feet? How do they expect for that rope to make it all the wway under the ship? it didn't, the guys on the ship took it.
The captain is giving orders, the guys in the boat don't know the code words.
I do like it, very amusing. Kind of reminds me of my staff!

I agree with what they are doing, but it's hard for me to watch. Bunch of inept tree huggers that never get the mission accomplished from what I've seen.

Watching the RIB's take big water was sad, one wave almost took out a crew member....they need something longer with big blocks.

Good show though, it's good to see people having a passion for a good cause.

Only saw a little bit of it but what do you expect from a bunch of hippies? Seemed like there was a lot of crew churn (turnover) too.

They should rename the boat the 'Ship of Fools'

The show is great because the captqin and crew are the worst. I am sure the boat will sink soon enough next time they hide out in an ice field...

It is pretty bad, though I'm sure a fair amount of that is the editing. You can tell just from the sea conditions that they chop different shots from different times of day (or perhaps from different days).

Some of it is pretty ridiculous - throwing the bottles by hand, I mean, come on. Head on over to any boat store and buy a friggin' water balloon launcher - problem solved. And throwing a line in the water to tangle the props on 200 ft ship :rolleyes: A steel cable, maybe, but a nylon line? I don't think so...

They used to hit the whale killer ships with almost every throw when they got close. Now the Japs have netting and water cannons. Watson needs to come up with new methods to counteract them.

My favorite part in season one is when the jack hole has no idea how to use a compass and then they see a ship out the port side and he says "where", and looks out the right! Someone needs to beat that guy with a sock full of quarters.:D Other then that I am glad I dvr it because I can't waste a 1/2 hr for 3minutes of funny.

While the cause might be respectable, the way they are going about it isn't. With all the maritime hi-jackings going on I'm waiting for one of the whaling ships to claim attempted hi-jacking and hit the Sea Shepard at the water line with a rocket propelled grenade.

Then the rookie sea-goers will really provide some comedy!!! :)

If someone jumped the rail of my vessel out there they would be shot before they put their foot on the deck. These people are a bunch of clowns and I'm sure that the people really trying to save whale are ashamed of this TV show.
